Overview Johnson Service Group (JSG) is seeking an Environmental Laboratory Analyst for a contract assignment in the Atlanta, GA area. This role involves testing environmental samples to determine the presence of pollutants and other contaminants, using specialized equipment and techniques to support compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations. Responsibilities Environmental sample preparation, including logging in, apportioning, weighing, spiking, and preparing samples for instrumental analysis. Follow emergency response plans for environmental incidents, spills, and accidents. Maintain accurate environmental documentation and records required for compliance and reporting. Receive customer samples, verify receipt compliance, log samples, and prepare sample kits for customers. Utilize analytical balances, pipettes, and measurement techniques with a strong emphasis on laboratory safety. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Environmental Sciences or an Associate’s degree in one of these fields. Experience: Entry-level position; willingness to learn and perform environmental testing and documentation. Technical Skills: Use of analytical balances, pipetting, dispensing, measuring volumes, and general laboratory safety practices. Communication: Effective written and verbal communication to convey technical information and compliance requirements. Problem-Solving & Attention to Detail: Strong analytical thinking to assess data, identify trends, and ensure accuracy in documentation and regulatory compliance. Teamwork: Ability to collaborate with colleagues and multidisciplinary teams to achieve environmental goals. Physical/ PPE Requirements: PPE provided (laboratory PPE, chemical-resistant gloves, safety glasses, lab coat) and wear as required; role may involve bending, lifting, climbing, or walking on varied surfaces. Laboratory & Safety Information The role requires adherence to laboratory safety procedures and environmental health standards. Personal protective equipment is provided and must be worn as required.
