Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A school in Halifax, NC is seeking four dedicated Special Education Teachers to provide exceptional support across elementary, middle, and high school levels for the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract position offers an opportunity to work onsite with a focused caseload in Early Childhood (EC) resource teaching.

Position Details:

• Location: Halifax, NC
• Contract Dates: July 27, 2026 July 2, 2027
• Hours: 35 hours per week
• Positions Available: 4 EC Resource Teachers
  • 2 Elementary
  • 1 Middle School
  • 1 High School
• Onsite role (no virtual or remote options)

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction and support tailored to students with special education needs
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to maximize academic and social success
• Maintain thorough documentation and communicate effectively with parents and school personnel

Qualifications:

• Valid North Carolina Special Education teaching certification for Early Childhood (EC)
• Experience working with diverse populations across multiple grade levels
• Strong understanding of special education laws, IEP development, and differentiated instruction
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
