Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Located in Halifax, NC, this opportunity is for four Special Education Teachers specializing in Exceptional Children (EC) resource roles across elementary, middle, and high school levels. The positions are onsite, requiring a commitment of 35 hours per week from July 27, 2026, through July 2, 2027.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction and support to students with exceptional needs in resource settings.
  • Collaborate with general education staff to adapt curricula and accommodate diverse learning requirements.
  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet individual educational goals.
  • Maintain detailed records of student performance and participate in individualized education program (IEP) meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Valid EC teaching certification or qualifications meeting North Carolina state standards.
  • Experience in special education, preferably within resource teaching roles spanning elementary to high school.
  • Strong communication skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and educational teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple caseloads with a focus on fostering inclusive learning environments.

Location:

  • Halifax, North Carolina (onsite only; remote or virtual options are not available).
