Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Special Education Teacher position is available for the 2025-2026 school year in an urban school district based in Flint, MI, with opportunities also in Grand Blanc, Lansing, and Detroit areas. This full-time role requires onsite availability and offers the chance to work within self-contained classrooms serving up to 22 students, primarily focused on Early Learning (Pre-K and up) through K-12.

Responsibilities include delivering specialized instruction in resource room settings, addressing the diverse needs of students with learning disabilities or other special education requirements. Candidates will work closely with students requiring Emotional Impairment (EI), Cognitively Impaired (CI), and other related endorsements, following Michigans Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and federal IDEA guidelines.

Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Michigan Teacher Certificate with Learning Disabilities (LD) endorsement is required; EI and CI endorsements or MDE endorsement ZA (Early Childhood) with an additional Special Education area are preferred.
• Experience working in urban school environments and a demonstrated understanding of the challenges faced by urban children and their families.
• Familiarity with MARSE and federal IDEA regulations is essential.
• Ability to effectively manage a caseload mainly consisting of self-contained classrooms (max 22 students).
• Full-time availability (35 hours per week) with a commitment to onsite instruction.
• University transcripts and Michigan teaching certificate verification must be provided before submission.
