Description

The Spa at Promontory is seeking a passionate, professional, and experienced Massage Therapist to join our talented team. As part of Promontory's award-winning private mountain club, you'll practice in a breathtaking setting where wellness and elevated experiences go hand in hand.

Our state-of-the-art spa features 10 beautifully appointed treatment rooms, a full hydrotherapy circuit, and a tranquil relaxation space, thoughtfully designed to enhance the member experience while providing massage therapists with a calming, functional environment to deliver exceptional care.

Compensation: Competitive compensation structure including base hourly pay, commission, and gratuities (averaging $90/hr when performing services)

Job Type: Part-Time | Year-Round or Seasonal Opportunities Available

Available shifts: Saturdays year-round. Assist with high volume days that need additional coverage.

Spa hours: 10:00am - 6:00pm

Shift hours: 9:30am - 6:30pm

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all massage therapy and body treatment services listed on the spa menu in accordance with Utah licensure.
  • Educate clients about spa menu offerings and recommend appropriate enhancements and retail products.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked treatment room.
  • Report any necessary spa or locker room repairs and uphold all sanitation standards.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of locker rooms, relaxation areas, treatment rooms, and the staff break room.
  • Exhibit strong time management, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
  • Collaborate professionally with the spa team in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Offer thoughtful input and creativity to help improve the spa experience.
  • Assist with product inventory. May require occasional lifting or standing on stools.
  • Support development of massage protocols and enhancements.
  • Contribute to training and onboarding of new team members.
Qualifications

Essential Functions & Qualifications:

  • Must hold and maintain a valid Utah Massage Therapy license in good standing.
  • Must have two (2) years of hands-on massage therapy experience in a high-end or luxury setting.
  • Must have strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Familiarity and knowledge of a variety of massage modalities.
  • Must be a dependable team player and support spa operations as needed.
  • Willingness to attend mandatory training sessions and participate in special events.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with a positive, energetic attitude.
  • Maintain a professional and sanitary treatment space according to spa and state standards.
  • Be punctual for all shifts and sessions, adhering to service time guidelines.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to stay composed and focused under pressure while delivering exceptional care.
  • Consistently uphold The Promontory experience through professional conduct and service excellence.

Educational Requirements and Certifications: Must be a licensed Massage Therapist in the State of Utah. High school diploma or GED required. Continuing education in bodywork techniques is preferred and encouraged. Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check.

Previous Experience Required: Two (2) years of hands-on massage therapy experience in a high-end or luxury setting preferred. Must have strong customer service and communication skills. Familiarity with spa software and knowledge of a variety of massage modalities is beneficial.

Physical Requirements: Requires extensive use of hands, physical dexterity, and ability to perform bodywork for extended periods. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and sit throughout a shift. Willingness to work flexible hours, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed.
