The position works closely with Hyatt’s Corporate Communications and Brands team to ensure alignment, and collaborates with leaders of key functions across the organization. Develop strategic programs in support of Hyatt’s marketing, operations, and development objectives, starting with Latin America; implement initiatives that deliver measurable results Oversee HIC corporate communication and spearhead an integrated communications program designed to drive preference for Hyatt and its HIC sub‑brands, and support acquisition and penetration for the loyalty program World of Hyatt Work closely with functional specialists in Brands, Marketing, Digital Marketing, and content development to ensure an integrated approach across functions Build a strong network with internal PR resources at Hyatt hotels across the assigned brand and region; provide strategic guidance for compelling storylines and media relations that reinforce corporate messages Leverage new hotel openings, acquisitions, conversions, and renovations to create awareness of Hyatt’s brands and company positioning in the region Take ownership of the Communications strategy for new hotel openings and brand introductions in HIC; embed communications within overall launch strategy with Marketing, Digital Marketing, and content teams Drive awareness for new brands entering HIC Position Hyatt as a business and leisure service/product innovator through brand publicity programs (surveys, events, social media campaigns, etc.) Engage developers and business partners to promote Hyatt as a preferred hotel operator; manage trade/B2B media relations and develop messaging that differentiates Hyatt and its sub‑brands Create a visibility program for Hyatt spokespersons across the region, identify public speaking opportunities, and develop messaging documents and briefings on corporate issues and media inquiries Act as a go‑to resource for issues and crises, supporting hotels and the global communications teams with issue management and crisis communications Manage and direct Hyatt’s corporate PR agencies for the region; act as day‑to‑day contact to achieve set goals and collaborate with regional agencies Support operating and opening hotels with selection, onboarding, and training of communications staff Develop strong relationships with local, regional, national, and international press to benefit Hyatt Identify current industry and lifestyle trends to position Hyatt as a leader and expert resource for media Build relationships with key functions across the company to enhance credibility and relevance of the Global Communications function Qualifications High degree of personal and professional savvy and experience that instills confidence among internal and external stakeholders Minimum 7–8 years of Corporate Communications experience, with managerial/supervisory roles, preferably in travel and hospitality or on the agency side Public company experience in the US and Latin America is highly desired Fluency in English and Spanish (both written and verbal); additional language a plus Extensive media relations experience; spokesperson experience is an advantage Ability to lead through consensus building and strong mentoring orientation Experience establishing credibility and presenting programs and ideas persuasively to leadership Ability to understand and implement cross‑functional strategies; work with functional specialists on integrated programs High energy and enthusiasm Previous crisis management exposure and experience highly desired Proven writing and editing across various materials (press releases, issue statements, key messages, speeches, etc. in English and Spanish) Conceptual, strategic, and creative thinker with unquestionable integrity Flexible, stimulated by challenges, open‑minded Willingness and ability to travel, including at short notice The position responsibilities outlined above are not exhaustive; additional duties may be assigned as necessary. Salary The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $130,000, with eligibility for incentive awards and an annual bonus.
