This person shall be responsible for supervising inmates as they work on public works jobs, county property and public domain. On days of inclement weather, he will act as a correctional Officer in the jail and under emergency conditions will also be assigned to the jail. He shall be responsible for safely transporting of inmates to and from locations and maintain proper supervision of the inmates as they complete tasks. They should also be able oversee the maintenance of a vehicle used for that purpose as well as lawnmowers, chainsaws, weed eaters and other equipment assigned to the Road Crew. Person must be able to communicate with the Sheriff, Jail Commanders, County Engineer and other County Road Department employees. Requirements This position requires knowledge or background in the Correctional Officer field.
