Job Description
A Snapshot of Your Day Our team is seeking a visionary AI leader who has already proven themselves at the world's most demanding technology companies and is ready for a harder, more meaningful challenge.
As Principal AI Agent Engineer within Siemens Energy's AI Factory, you will architect enterprisescale multiagent systems that coordinate across the full Gas Services value chain-operating in environments where mistakes have real physical consequences and success reshapes how an entire industry works. You'll lead a small, elite team with the autonomy to define technical direction and the mandate to ship at global enterprise scale.
Roughly onesixth of the world's electricity is generated using Siemens Energy technologies. This role offers a rare opportunity to transform a 150yearold industrial leader from the inside, defining how AI agents will power the future workplace and the future of energy itself.
How You'll Make an Impact - Architect enterprisescale multiagent systems where specialized agents coordinate complex workflows across multiple business functions.
- Define the technical vision and reference architectures for the AI Agent Factory, the platform used to build, deploy, and govern agents across the enterprise.
- Design robust coordination protocols and orchestration patterns that enable reliable multiagent operation in production environments where downtime has realworld energy impact.
- Translate cuttingedge agentic AI research into productiongrade systems, delivering custom, codefirst implementations and finetuned LLMs for industrial domains, no lowcode abstractions.
- Mentor and elevate Staff and Senior engineers, setting the standard for engineering excellence, technical rigor, and a strong codefirst culture across the AI Factory.
- Communicate technical strategy to senior leadership, bridging what's possible in agentic AI with what drives measurable value for the energy business.
What You Bring - 6-9 years of production AI/ML experience. Candidates with more experience can be considered at a higher level.
- 3+ years designing and shipping multi-agent or complex LLM-based systems at scale.
- Proven track record at a top-tier technology company (Google, Meta, Oracle, Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, or equivalent), with experience operating at an elite technical bar and the drive to take on a new, highimpact challenge.
- You've built production agents and tooling from the ground up , working across Python, TypeScript, and Go, with handson LLM finetuning (LoRA/QLoRA) and custom orchestration-far beyond prebuilt frameworks.
- Experience with LangGraph and AutoGen, and the ability to build custom agent coordination layers when needed.
- Strong communicator with the ability to clearly explain emergent agent behaviors, coordination tradeoffs, and system design decisions to nontechnical stakeholders and executive leadership .
- Comfortable operating across time zones , enabling strong daytoday collaboration with European partners (UTC-2 to UTC+2 overlap strongly preferred).
