Our client is hiring a Patent Prosecution Attorney in their Pasadena or Long Beach office. In this role, you will work on cutting‑edge patent work involving therapeutics, diagnostics, and biotechnology platforms at a premier IP law firm recognized by Chambers USA. This firm offers: Base Salary Range: $115K-$145K+ (DOE) Bonus: Bonus eligibility and amount are based upon company and/or individual performance Benefit offerings for full‑time employment include medical, dental, vision, PTO, and life insurance and a 401k plan Direct client exposure and meaningful responsibility from day one A supportive culture of mentorship that values both professional growth and personal well‑being Responsibilities: Draft, file, and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications in biotechnology and life sciences Analyze invention disclosures, experimental results, and scientific data Assist with responding to USPTO communications and conducting interviews with USPTO examiners Conduct prior art searches and patentability analyses Prepare patent claim charts and support due diligence and freedom‑to‑operate projects Collaborate directly with inventors and scientific teams Required Qualifications: J.D. from an accredited law school USPTO Registration Ph.D. in life sciences or related field such as biology, biomedical sciences, molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, immunology, or other related life sciences field 0‑3 years of experience in patent prosecution Strong ability to analyze and communicate complex biological concepts Please feel free to contact me at abby.gager@lhh.com for more information.
