Job Title: Packager (1st Shift) ($18.00/hr.)

Job Description

The Packager plays a key role on the pharmaceutical production line by inspecting, labeling, and packaging products to meet strict quality and regulatory standards. This position works on a fast-paced first shift, handling IV bags and injectable drugs in a clean, FDA-regulated environment while collaborating with skilled operators and using computer systems for training and documentation. Responsibilities

  • Inspect pharmaceutical products visually to ensure they meet quality standards and are free from defects.
  • Perform accurate packaging of products according to detailed packing instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Finalize labeling of shipping details, ensuring that all information is complete, correct, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Work efficiently on a production line, maintaining a steady workflow and meeting daily production targets.
  • Use a computer to complete training modules, access documentation, and record necessary production or quality information.
  • Lift and move materials and products weighing between 5 and 40 pounds throughout the shift.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and FDA regulations at all times to ensure product safety and compliance.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in a controlled environment, supporting safety and quality initiatives.
  • Adhere to packing instructions to verify that the correct product is placed in each package and that shipping details are properly confirmed.
  • Operate in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and a strong focus on safety and quality.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
  • High school diploma, transcripts, or GED.
  • Good vision suitable for detailed visual inspection; corrective lenses such as glasses or contacts are acceptable.
  • Ability to navigate and use a computer for training, documentation, and basic system tasks.
  • Experience performing visual inspection of products for quality.
  • Comfort working on a production line in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to follow detailed written instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in labeling and packaging.
  • Commitment to following safety and quality protocols.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working in an FDA-regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Prior experience in pharmaceutical packaging or handling medical products.
  • Experience with shipping processes and labeling in a manufacturing setting.

Work Environment

This role is based in a clean, temperature-controlled, FDA-regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing facility spread across two floors. Packagers work on production lines manufacturing IV bags and injectable drugs, following strict safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The environment emphasizes Good Manufacturing Practices and consistent adherence to documented procedures. The current packaging team is small and expanding, with new lines and shifts being added, offering the chance to join at an early stage of growth. Work is performed on first shift, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., in a setting that uses computer systems for training and documentation and requires frequent lifting of materials up to 40 pounds. The facility maintains a professional atmosphere focused on safety, cleanliness, and precision in all operations.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
