Food Safety / Sanitation Technician - Night Shift

Join our dynamic food manufacturing team at Diamond Pet Foods as a Food Safety / Sanitation Technician! Opening is for Night Shift with working hours of 4:00 pm - 4:20 am. The Food Safety / Sanitation Technician needs to be proficient in duties consisting of routine cleaning of machinery, sanitizing regarding cross contamination and working closely with QC Department. Technicians perform regular upkeep of the plant offices and facilities.

Pay Rate
$20.00 per hour
Plus $2.50 per hour night shift differential

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure minimal risk of cross contamination by properly utilizing color coded equipment in the appropriate colored zones.
• Complete clean out of production lines and processing equipment by foaming, sanitizing, scrubbing, and scraping using various chemicals and tools.
• Maintain cleanliness of facilities by foaming, sanitizing, scrubbing, and scraping using various chemicals and tools.
• Complete the master sanitation schedule of daily, weekly, and monthly tasks, and any other logs.
• Sort chemicals, mix, and fill up sanitizer tanks.
• Understand and comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), GMP's, and HACCP.
• Working overtime is MANDATORY and requires full participation.
• Report all safety violations and hazards to the supervisor immediately and participate in all safety programs and procedures. Must always wear required PPE.
• Other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by the supervisor to be accepted with a positive and professional attitude.

Qualifications:

• Must hold a valid driver's license.
• Successful completion of pre-employment screening (drug screen, background check, and physical.)
• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, climb, squat, bend, pull, push, and scrub in all directions.

Work Environment:

• Work is performed indoors and outdoors near operating equipment, loud noises, and loose particles.
• Work performed requires employees to operate in all different temperatures/weather, dusty areas, confined spaces, and heights.
• Employees are required to wear a bump cap, hearing protection, safety shoes/boots, and safety glasses at all times.
