Job Description

Position: lineman

Pay Range: $25-35/Hr

Hours - 6:30am - 3:30pm

• Overtime available

Location: Duncansville, PA

• Worksites will all be near Duncansville - No travel

Must Haves:

• Have knowledge or experience working on telecom lines either on or off the pole (Aerial)
• Understanding how the poles connect
• Lashers and overlash equipment
• Proper placement in communications space
• Strand preparation and tensioning requirements
• Expansion loops and slack storage methods
• Operating heavy machinery
• CDL ( Preferably Class A )
• Valid Drivers License
• Comfortable working with arms above shoulder level at heights, in confined spaces and in remote locations, climb stairs, use ladder, bend, stoop, stand, walk and lift up to 55 pounds, operate vehicle & heavy machinery

Nice to Haves:

• Telecom background
• (L1) Level 1 Pole school

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the installation of fiber and telecom cables overhead, and promptly repair any issues to ensure efficient and reliable service
• Safely use equipment like bucket truck, digger derrick, excavators
• Safely use hand tools and power tools like wrenches, drills, and saws
• Maintain safe work areas so that traffic flows smoothly while on the job
• Safely work at heights using climbing hooks and ladders
• Be ready to travel for storm response on short notice
• Other duties as assigned

Job Descriptions:

A client of Insight Global is looking for a Lineman 1 or 2, you’ll work alongside experienced Lineman to ensure fiber and telecom lines are installed and maintained safely so that everyone can stay connected.

Types of work to explain to candidate:

• BAU (Business as Usual) - Storm repair or general maintenance or upgrades on existing poles and lines
• Strategic Work/Builds - New builds or installations on projects - building out fiber on new or non-existing poles

Compensation:

$25/hr to $35/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
