Job Title: Housekeeping Worker Location: Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, 201 Lyons Avenue, Newark, NJ 07112-2027 Department: Environmental Services Req #: 0000248562 | Status: Full-Time | Shift: Evening | Pay: $19.98 per hour Job Overview The Housekeeping Worker is responsible for cleaning and supplying patient rooms, nursing stations, ancillary areas, and other areas assigned in accordance with standard procedures of the Environmental Services Department and in accordance with the Medical Center objectives. Qualifications Successful completion of general and department‑specific orientation High School Diploma (preferred) Previous hospital housekeeping experience (preferred) Scheduling Requirements Status: Full Time Shift: Evening (3:00pm‑11:00pm) Weekend and holiday coverage required Essential Functions Arrange furniture for meetings, workshops, and community affairs Assist in cleaning emergency spills observed or upon request Maintain housekeeping closet and par levels Collect and transport all waste, including RMW, according to policy Compact trash or place in containers Damp buff and shampoo carpets with approved equipment Dry and wet mop floors of rooms and offices Dust, mop, and wet mop corridors, stairwells, and other common areas Empty waste receptacles and remove trash Maintain assigned equipment for cleanliness and report repairs when needed Observe and report the need to repair equipment, furniture, building, and fixtures Perform patient discharge cleaning using a 7‑step cleaning procedure Refill paper towels, toilet paper, soap, and toilet seat dispensers Ensure all patient rooms are patient ready at all times, including placement of tent card, toilet seat band, and privacy curtains Benefits Paid Time Off (PTO) Medical and prescription drug insurance Dental and vision insurance Retirement plans Short and long term disability Life and accidental death insurance Tuition reimbursement Health Care/Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts Wellness programs Voluntary benefits (e.g., pet insurance) Discounts through partners such as NJ Devils, NJ PAC, Verizon, and more RWJBarnabas Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr RWJBarnabas Health
