Nearest MTA Bus Stop: Albion St & 21st Ave N EB Internship Information: Format: In-Person Only Positions Available: 30 Technology Used: Chrome Book Internship Title: DYMON Quad Intern Internship Description/Learning Objectives: The DYMON QUAD POWER Youth Internship is a paid summer leadership opportunity for middle school–aged girls participating in the DYMON Quad Summer Program. The DYMON Quad is a holistic youth development program that creates fun and engaging ways to support growth in the youth’s knowledge, tools, and skill building in the areas of: Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Financial Literacy, Health/Wellness, and Communication Skills. POWER Youth Interns participate fully in programming while also serving as ambassadors and role models for younger campers. Interns gain hands-on experience in leadership, professionalism, teamwork, and job readiness while building confidence, purpose, and practical skills. They get the best of both worlds to participate and grow their leadership skills. Job Duties: Demonstrate punctuality, professionalism, and active participation in all program sessions Engage in leadership-building activities and team collaboration. Enjoy making learning fun. Practice public speaking, professional communication, and advocacy skills Uphold DYMON community values and program expectations Develop a business or service idea rooted in personal interests and community needs Participate in the 6-Step Small Business Development curriculum Conduct basic market research and identify target customers Create a simple business budget and pricing strategy Build a brand identity, including a business name and marketing concept Complete budgeting and financial literacy activities Practice money management skills applicable to personal and business finances Understand the role of banking, saving, and reinvestment in entrepreneurship Learn digital safety, social media best practices, and professional online presence Utilize basic AI and digital tools for productivity, branding, and communication Develop professional emails, captions, and written communication Participate in headshot and business card development Engage in wellness workshops focused on mental, emotional, and physical health Learn leadership decorum, professional etiquette, and self-presentation Practice confidence-building strategies for interviews and presentations Capstone Project & Demonstration Prepare and deliver a 2–3 minute elevator pitch Present a final product prototype, service outline, or demonstration Reflect on leadership growth, skill development, and future goals Basic computer knowledge Ability to work well in a team and participate in group activities Punctual, reliable, and responsible Willingness to complete assignments and accept corrective feedback Strong communication skills and openness to new experiences Respectful attitude toward peers, staff, and community members Model Joy in learning and lead well General Information: Work Schedule Days and Hours: Mon–Thu, 9:00-2:00pm Dress Code: Program t shirt and jeans/shorts arm length, no holes, closed toe shoes Travel Required: To and from program location Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 5 lbs, move tables, chairs Working Conditions: Summer Youth program with middle school aged girls. The full program is June 1st– July 17th June 1 st – June 3 rd : Interns attend assigned worksite for scheduled times. June 4 th : POWER Youth Summit at Sheraton Music City Nashville Airport June 5 th – July 17 th : Team Members on site at their agencies on Monday-Friday at the time scheduled by employer. You will be scheduled to work 4 hours daily which equals 20 hours per week. July 13 th – July 17 th : POWER Youth Summer Employment Program - End of Summer Celebration – Team Members can showcase their projects from the summer. If you are selected as an Experience Work Team Member, you will make $12.00 an hour and receive a summer program with project-based employment for youth ages 14 -15. Experience Work projects can be focused on the arts, leadership skills or community development. In addition, you will learn “work ready” skills for future employment. There are opportunities to intern in many areas of Nashville, so please select the opportunity based on your access to transportation. About Us The POWER Youth program, previously known as Opportunity NOW, provides career exploration and work experience activities for youth 14 to 24 years old.
