Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Employment Law Attorney to join our litigation team and provide strategic representation to employers and employees in a wide range of workplace disputes. The successful candidate will manage cases from intake through resolution, with a focus on litigation, administrative proceedings, and trial preparation. This role requires strong advocacy skills, experience with EEOC and WSHRC matters, and the ability to manage a busy caseload while delivering practical legal solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent clients in employment-related litigation including state and federal court actions and administrative proceedings before EEOC and WSHRC.
  • Manage all phases of litigation including intake, investigation, discovery, dispositive and non-dispositive motions, and trial preparation.
  • Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, discovery requests, witness statements, and settlement agreements.
  • Conduct and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, and coordinate expert witnesses as needed.
  • Lead internal and external client counseling on employment law compliance, risk mitigation, and workplace policies.
  • Negotiate settlements and mediations to achieve favorable client outcomes while managing exposure and costs.
  • Supervise paralegals and junior attorneys, review work product, and manage case budgets and timelines.
  • Perform legal research and stay current on developments in employment law, regulations, and relevant case law.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active bar admission in Washington State.
  • Minimum of 5 years of civil litigation experience with substantial employment law matters; trial experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated litigation skills including discovery management, drafting and arguing motions, and deposition practice.
  • Experience representing clients before the EEOC and Washington State Human Rights Commission (WSHRC) or similar administrative bodies.
  • Proven trial preparation experience and courtroom presence; prior trial experience a plus.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent client communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues and clients.
